Conquering the Cliff: Autism’s Journey into Adulthood
Join Bridgewell for the Conquering the Cliff:  Autism’s Journey into Adulthood conference on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Sheraton in Framingham, Massachusetts.  This full day conference is an opportunity to network with up to 500 human services leaders, professionals and family members. The conference will feature 18 workshops on a wide variety of topics. Many families have described the transition from the educational system to adult services for their children with autism as “falling off a cliff.” As more and more  individuals with autism are entering the adult world, service providers and families have been working diligently and creatively to develop supports and service models to meet the needs of this population.  We are determined to conquer the cliff so that individuals may be successfully integrated into the adult world. Bridgewell is proud to be a leader in serving  these young adults.  We are excited  about the opportunity to address this emerging need by bringing together experts and innovators in the field to network and share their knowledge.

OUT MetroWest's Trivia Night & Silent Auction 2016
Join us for a casual evening of trivia, prizes, and fun as we celebrate our ever-growing programs for area youth! This evening is open to all community supporters, including our youth participants and their families! How does Trivia Night work?  All participants will be placed in teams of up to eight people for ten rounds of trivia. The questions will be fun and diverse, and there will be something for everyone! We invite you to form your own teams (please email your team roster to susan.francis@outmetrowest.org or buy a table), or we will place you on a team with other community supporters. Even if you believe trivia is “not your thing,” this is not your average trivia challenge! You never know when your knowledge of BBC programming or pop culture may come in handy!  Dinner: We will provide a light dinner of pizza and salad. We invite teams to bring snacks/desserts to share at their tables during the trivia portion of the evening. We will connect all teammates together via email before the event. Youth will also be selling homemade baked goods for dessert. Silent Auction: During dinner there will be additional opportunities to support OUT MetroWest’s youth programming through participating in the silent auction. We will post a sample of silent auction items on this site and our Facebook page closer to the event. If you wish to donate an item to the silent auction please email susan.francis@outmetrowest.org Cost: This evening is intended to bring the community together and raise funds for OUT MetroWest’s continually growing programs for middle and high school youth. If, however, the cost of the event would prevent your participation, please email susan.francis@outmetrowest.org  Cost: $20 adults, $15 youth, $160 for a table of 8 people, and $25 at the door.  Schedule: 5:45 p.m.: Doors Open; 6:00 p.m.: Dinner, Presentation, and Silent Auction; 6:45 p.m.: Trivia Begins!

Slambovians at Amazing Things Arts Center
"Mightily impressive and hugely original… the cool end of Americana" - Maverick Magazine, UK New York's Slambovian Circus of Dreams is bringing their rootsy psychedelica to Framingham, Massachusetts' Amazing Things Art Center this weekend. Hailing from Sleepy Hollow, New York, the uber-creative Slambovians are pioneers of the alt-folk/americana genre. The NY TIMES says of the Slambovians, "Their songs are imbued with mystical stirrings and idealism... they take the stage by storm!". Likened to an array of artists including the Waterboys, Jethro Tull, The Decemberists, a quirkier Tom Petty - their "dusty Americana ballads" evoke Dylan, Cracker, or the Wallflowers. The band's 6th studio release, "A Very Unusual Head", is due out June of 2016. This band takes no prisoners - Joziah Longo's bigger-than-life presence and signature voice, Sharkey McEwen's deft slidework on both mandolin and electric guitar, and Tink Lloyd's arsenal of instruments in her corner draws you in… They charm from the first note with thought provoking lyrics and a vibe that feeds the soul. A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed For All! "They're not just a band, that's like saying the Bible is just a book..." - Fairfield County Weekly "Great songs and a whole lotta heart!" - Meg Griffin, SiriusXM "This band is the best I've heard since the Beatles!" - Jim Pons, The Mothers of Invention, The Turtles "The Hudson River Valley's best kept secret."- JamBase.com "Joziah is an awesome songwriter!" - Garth Hudson, The Band

Nonprofit Town Halls: 2016 MNN Regional Meeting - Metrowest
2016 is sure to be an exciting year for nonprofits— filled with innovations and creative solutions to meet the challenges we will face. And while nonprofits across the Commonwealth share a range of experiences, we know there are a great deal of differences determined not only by your size and mission, but also by where your organization operates. During MNN’s Nonprofit Town Halls, MNN’s new CEO Jim Klocke and staff will share statistics and information on the nonprofit sector in each region to help nonprofit leaders collaborate and advocate for their organizations. In addition, the gatherings will provide attendees with the opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and voice opinions about important topics such as funding, government relations, and the state of each region’s nonprofit sector. Presented in partnership with Metrowest Nonprofit Network. Registration, networking, and refreshments will be open at 8:30. Program will begin at 9:00.
